The Marine Detective, Jackie Hildering, recently had a rare encounter with an endangered Leatherback turtle off the west coast of Vancouver Island.

A few days earlier the Department of Fisheries and Oceans vessel she was diving from came upon a sight that was not so rare. The crew retrieved a bunch of Canada Day balloons floating out to sea.
