Boaters and campers who are not residents of BC will be charged an extra CA$20 when they stay at a provincial marine park in the province.

Beginning May 15, 2026, BC Parks is introducing the fee for non-residents when they tie up to a dock, a mooring buoy or use a campsite at 59 provincial parks, including four popular marine parks around the Salish Sea.

The extra fee is valid for the duration of a stay at a provincial park. It is paid once, whether for one or multiple nights.

The four marine parks include Montague Harbour and Wallace Island in the Gulf Islands, Plumper Cove in Howe Sound and Nism̓aakqin Park at Hot Springs Cove in Clayoquot Sound.

A fifth park, Porteau Cove in Howe Sound, will also charge the non-resident fee, but this is not a common destination for boaters seeking overnight moorage.
