Jerisich Dock gets facelift

A ribbon-cutting event will be held this afternoon (June 1) in Gig Harbor on Puget Sound when the recently completed Welcome Park will be officially opened at Jerisich Public Dock, a popular destination for boaters visiting Gig Harbor. The park was opened to the public on May 26, ahead of the ceremony.

The plaza boasts larger toilet facilities, including showers for visiting boaters. Laundry facilities are also planned.

An electronic kiosk area removes the mess of paper fliers and allows the city more control over marketing, said Karen Scott, tourism and communications director for the city of Gig Harbor. “Instead of having a paper kiosk here, it will be a green, paperless computer,” she said.
