The 2021 Race to Alaska has been cancelled, event Race Boss Daniel Evans said in a news release on Sunday, citing border closures and continued Covid-19 health concerns among the reasons. The 2020 race was also nixed.

In its place, the race committee plans the Washington 360, or WA360, a race around Puget Sound that departs from Port Townsend on a course that includes Point Roberts and Olympia en route, before finishing where it began.
