Our favourite guides on this trip have been the Salish Sea Pilots…easy to zoom, search, switch back and forth and navigate between the overview chart and chartlets.

These guides are easy to follow while being incredibly informative. I know no other publication that gives its readers so much information. They list harbour facilities and dock layouts, where to anchor and what can be expected regarding the bottom make up of the anchorage. That alone would be great, but they also mark out hiking trails, provincial parks and other important places such as grocery stores, marine fuel stations and the list goes on and on. These informative and interactive guides give me the confidence to go and explore areas I knew nothing about prior to purchasing them. Besides owning a PFD and a bailing bucket, every boat owner should have to have a copy of these guides for planning trips along the British Columbia coast, Vancouver Island and the north coast of Washington state. They will assist you in your journeys as well as help keep you safe. It is rare to come across a product that has been complied and presented in such a caring way.
