The Riverboat Pasta way
But nothing is prepared. What’s more, your little stove has only one burner and you are not really sure you have enough fuel to completely cook both pasta and sauce. If you were sane you’d call the whole thing off.
Luckily you are not sane. As well, you know how to make Riverboat Pasta. It’s not a recipe, but a easy, economical procedure for cooking pasta.
Do the chopping and whatnot for your sauce. I don’t know, it’s your famous recipe.
Then prepare the pasta, the Riverboat way.
Riverboat Pasta
- Bring covered water to a boil.
- Add pasta.
- Bring water back to a rolling boil, stirring.
- Boil one minute.
- Cover and remove pot from stove.
That’s it. The pasta will finish cooking in the standing hot water while you prepare your sauce. The pasta, depending on the type, will cook in 10-15 minutes while you make your famous sauce.
One beauty of this cooking method, as well as it being suitable no matter how many burners you have, how big your galley is or how much fuel you have, is that it is very difficult to overcook the pasta.
If only solving that drippy leak in your cabin roof was so easy.
